FlexC Vulcanized Collet Systems
FlexC Vulcanized Collet Systems

Hardinge FlexC collet systems for lathes change in seconds! Vulcanized collet heads have a gripping range of ±.020" for bar stock variation with concentricity up to .0002" in the round smooth style. Hardinge collet heads are industry compatible to fit in most other brand collet chucks. Hardinge ranks as the world's largest manufacturer of collets, feed fingers and other workholding devices.

Rotary Tables and Indexers
Rotary Tables and Indexers

Hardinge is continually expanding their line of rotary systems. Choose from gear-driven indexers and rotary tables with single, dual, triple and quad spindles, direct-drive zero-backlash rotary tables and high-speed positioners, low-profile rotary tables, dual-axis configurations and plate and cube trunnion systems for multiple part fixturing. Hardinge collet-ready spindles allow quick-change between collets, expanding collets, step chucks, jaw chucks and face plates without the use of an adapter!

Hardinge Collet Blocks from 1C up to 35J collet capacities
Hardinge Collet Blocks from 1C up to 35J collet capacities

Hardinge Collet Blocks grip round, hex, square or odd-shaped parts and can be used horizontally or vertically on mill tables, flat or angled fixture plates, tombstones or rotary trunnions. Sizes available from 1C micro medical machining industry up to 35J mid-range automotive and aerospace industries. Modular collets blocks are compact with a low profile for increased axis travel and for maximum layout of the workspace. Arrange on a pallet for multiple part processing and quick changeover. Hydraulic and pneumatic models available.

Collet Pads Change Over Faster Than Solid Collets
Hardinge’s Style-S collet pads are designed to take up less space, cost less and change over faster than solid collets.

Reasons to Consider Custom Workholding
“There isn’t a shop that can say they’ve never had a problem gripping a part.” This is a quote from an introductory piece that describes the capabilities of the Hardinge Workholding Division in engineering custom workholding solutions for those problem parts.

Bridgeport, Rotary Compatibility Brochure
Hardinge rotary tables can be matched to a Bridgeport VMC operated with a Fanuc control.

Expanding Collet Systems Feature Interchangeable Heads
Sure-Grip expanding collet systems from Hardinge grip the internal diameter of a part for turning, milling, grinding, assembly, inspection and automation applications.

Manufacturer Turns Inward for New Machine
The Hardinge Workholding Group needed a heavy-duty machine with a rigid structural design that could perform multiple operations. After scouring the market, the group found the right model closer to home than it expected.

Collet-Ready Rotary Tables, Indexers Reduce Job Cost
Collet-ready spindle rotary tables and indexers manufactured by Hardinge accept a variety of standard tooling to grip parts of various shapes and sizes.

Rotary Table Offers Accuracy, Repeatability
Hardinge’s DD100 direct-drive super-precision rotary table is a high-speed parts positioner with ±3 arcsecond accuracy and 4 arcsecond repeatability.

Direct-Drive Rotary Tables for Contouring, Positioning
The company’s direct-drive rotary tables have zero backlash, permitting rapid bi-directional movement without lost time compensating for position over-travel.

Vulcanized Collet Systems
The FlexC collet systems are flexible, sealed collet heads that can interchange in seconds.

Low-Profile Rotary Tables for Heavy Loads
Low-Profile Rotary Systems are engineered to support heavy loads and high-force cutting applications while offering a fast clamp-and-release feature to speed production, the company says.

Low-Profile Rotary Table
The company’s GD160LP rotary table is designed to provide rigidity, speed, accuracy, low-profile and repeatability.

Low-Profile Rotary Table
The GD160LP rotary table is said to provide rigidity, speed, accuracy and repeatability in a low profile.

Custom Gripping Solutions For Fastener Industry
Hardinge manufactures collets for virtually all brands of machines and adapters used in the fastener industry. These precision collets can grip blind bolt fasteners, solid and blind rivets, bolts, screws, nuts, inserts and studs.

Four Spindles Accommodate 1,000-LB Tailstock Thrust
The Hardinge 5C2 quad-spindle indexing system is suited for small- to medium-sized parts of virtually all shapes. Each spindle can accommodate a 50-lb (23-kg) part with an axial thrust of 1,000-lbs (4,448 N).

Workholding Options Enhance Productivity
Hardinge Style-S master collets use interchangeable pads that can be changed without removing the master collet from the spindle, thus reducing change-over time. When loading bars, the shoulder of the pad locates against the front of the groove in the master collet.

Low-Profile Rotary Table(2)
The GD210LP low-profile rotary table is designed for rigidity, speed, accuracy and repeatability. Stiffness and rigidity are accomplished with large-diameter bearings and a fail-safe clamping system that accommodates parts as heavy as 220 lbs. The table uses as much as 233 foot-pounds (315Nm) of clamping torque to handle off-center drilling, cross-axis milling and other high-force cutting applications.

Low-Profile Rotary Table
The GD210LP low-profile rotary table from Hardinge is said to feature rigidity, speed, accuracy and repeatability. Large diameter bearings and a fail-safe clamping system provide high stiffness and high rigidity for parts weighing as much as 220 lbs. The table uses 233 foot-pounds (315 Nm) of clamping torque to handle off-center drilling, cross-axis milling and other high-force cutting applications.

Direct-Drive Design Eliminates Backlash

Chuck Helps Restore Thin-Walled, Hardened Parts To Roundness
Heat treating can distort parts, especially round, thin-walled workpieces. During finish-turning, such components can conform to the shape of the chuck, only to spring back to an out-of-round state after clamping. Hardinge has developed a chuck with multiple gripping fingers to avoid this problem.

Get A Grip With Various Workholding Options

Net-Shape Chucking Increases Hard Turning Accuracy
Heat treating a round, thin-wall part can distort the part's diameter. This lathe chuck grips an out-of-round part without forcing the workpiece perfectly round, which eliminates the spring-back effect after machining and removal from the chuck to enable a more accurate hard-turning operation.

ID Pickoff Alternative Saves Shop Money
This New York shop needed an affordable solution for an internal grip on the pickoff spindle of its six-spindle screw machine (32 mm through capacity). The job called for a brass turned part with thread milling. The company needed to backwork the part, but it couldn't grab the outside of the part with the OD pickoff attachment because it would distort the threads.
