3D Laser Technology - With a multi-axis torch, Mazak Optonics 3D (6-axis) lasers process stamped, hydroformed, and spun pre-formed parts. The product line features a max Z-axis that ranges from 11.8” to 16.53”. The multi-axis torch and simultaneously controlled chuck fabricate – in one operation – precise angle cuts, weld-prep bevels and advanced contours such as saddle joint cuts.

FabriGear Laser Cutting Technology for 3D, Pipe and Structural Applications

Pipe & Structural Laser Technology - These lasers perform 3D cutting of tube, including rectangular and triangular pipe as well as C, H, I and L beams. The multi-axis torch and simultaneously controlled chuck fabricate – in one operation – precise angle cuts, weld-prep bevels and advanced, complex contours such as saddle joint cuts. The 64-bit NC incorporates illustrated fill-in-the-blank screens to quickly program such complex contours and other cuts.

MAZAK OPTONICS CORPORATION established a presence in the U.S. in 1987 for the marketing, sales, service, and support of Mazak laser cutting systems in North America. Originally a joint venture, Yamazaki Mazak Corporation obtained full control of the operations in 2005. Mazak Optonics specializes solely in CO2 laser cutting processes for the metal fabrication, structural steel, and construction markets.

For nearly twenty years, we have been at the forefront of laser technologies as the industry began to accept laser processing as a viable technology, not just a lab experiment. Our approach has always been one of consultation and education for our customers to help them apply laser processing to their advantage and achieve world-class competitiveness.
The country’s largest staff of laser engineers and support personnel – dedicated solely to laser cutting – is based in our Schaumburg, IL Headquarters and Technology Center and in many other regional locations to meet our customers needs. This brainpower and the powerful 2-D and 3-D laser systems provide time and application studies for specific customer parts, proven and demonstrated in our 15,000 sq. ft. Technology Center. In addition, the benefits of various stages of automation are studied and justified in this age of scarce and costly manpower.
Our training headquarters is also in the Schaumburg facility, with classroom sessions supplemented by “hands-on” experience on the center floor. Management, operator, programmer, safety, and distributor training are developed and held here on an ongoing basis.
