MecSoft Announces 64 bit software for SolidWorks®
Irvine, CA, November 17, 2009
MecSoft Corporation, the developer of VisualMILL®, RhinoCAM®, VisualMILL for SolidWorks® and other computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software solutions, has announced the availability of a 64 bit version of VisualMILL for SolidWorks, an affordable integrated CAM software solution for SolidWorks users starting at $999 (US).
MecSoft?s Product Manager, Uday Honnalagere says that ?The 64 bit version of VisualMILL for SolidWorks will be a very important addition to our family of CAM products, in that it enables this product to handle parts which were previously cumbersome or impossible to handle due to memory limitations. This product coupled with the 64 bit version of SolidWorks will allow our customers to machine large parts effortlessly, thereby opening up new machining markets for them. Our tests indicate that we are able to machine parts that we were previously unable to machine in our 32-bit product due to memory limitations. We are excited and pleased to announce this as our first 64 bit product?.
The 64-bit version of the software will be available free of cost to existing 32-bit customers.
64-bit products running on 64-bit Windows operating systems can handle large amounts of memory, (4 Megabytes or more Random Access Memory (RAM)) more efficiently than a 32-bit operating system. More available memory can result in greater efficiency and better overall system performance when running memory intensive applications such as SolidWorks and VisualMILL for SolidWorks. This is a result of reduced disk paging and memory thrashing that is typical of 32 bit systems running such memory intensive applications due to the inherent 2 Gigabyte address space limit of these systems.

MecSoft?s New VisualMILL for SolidWorks® Shifts
Paradigm of Integrated CAM for SolidWorks®
Irvine, CA, July 8, 2009: MecSoft Corporation, the developer of VisualMILL, AlibreCAM,
RhinoCAM and other computer aided manufacturing /CAM software solutions, has announced
the release of VisualMILL for SolidWorks®, an affordable integrated CAM software
solution for SolidWorks® users starting at $999 (U.S.)
With over a decade of production testing, and thousands of users worldwide utilizing their
standard VisualMILL product, MecSoft has joined the exciting market of integrated CAM
solutions for SolidWorks®. ?MecSoft?s partnership with SolidWorks unites our state-of-the-art,
yet affordable CAM software solutions with a global leader in CAD technology? says Craig
Preston, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at MecSoft. ?CNC machinists
have reiterated their desire to utilize the advanced functionality of an integrated CAM solution
for SolidWorks®, but were not happy with the existing, more expensive options currently
available to them.?
By using the familiar and easy-to-use native
interface of SolidWorks® to implement the
powerful and robust feature set of VisualMILL
CAM software, and by pricing the product
affordably for cost conscious and discerning

MecSoft Announces Software Compatibility with Windows 7
Irvine, CA, October 21, 2009
MecSoft Corporation, the developer of VisualMILL, RhinoCAM, VisualMILL for SolidWorks and other computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software solutions, has announced that all of its Windows programs are compatible with Microsoft?s latest operating system, Windows 7, which is slated to be released on October 22, 2009.
MecSoft? Product Manager, Uday Honnalagere states that ?MecSoft?s CAM products have been fully tested under Windows 7 and work flawlessly - right from the install process to actually running the products?. He adds that ?Compatibility of our plug-in products will be dependent on the CAD host system - so if the CAD program is Windows 7 ready, our plug-ins (AlibreCAM, VisualMILL for SolidWorks, RhinoCAM, etc.) will work without any glitches.?
Windows 7 is the latest version of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, net-books, tablet PCs and media center PCs.
Unlike its predecessors (XP and Vista), which introduced a large number of new features, Windows 7 is intended to be a more focused, incremental upgrade to the Windows line, with the goal of being fully compatible with applications and hardware with which Windows Vista is already compatible.
