EdgeCAM 5 Axis Blade Toolpath

EdgeCAM's new full machine simulation capability is especially useful for Mill/Turn applications where there is an increased potential for expensive collisions because of the confined nature of the machines and the number of moveable items on the machine tool. The turrets (with complete tooling), sub-spindle or tailstock and b-axis indexing head can all be displayed with full movement. EdgeCAM machine simulation helps ensure safe operation even during complex multi-turret machining and spindle to spindle part transfer operations.

EdgeCAM 5 Axis Blade Machined

EdgeCAM 10 also includes the first elements of a new range of products for 4 and 5 axis simultaneous machining. Scheduled for full release in the next EdgeCAM version (due in Feburary 06), they are being made available on a limited basis to assist Pathtrace in the testing and prove out process. Successful cutting trials have been carried with strategic partners, Doosan Infracore in Korea and a wider range of trials are planned for the coming months before completion early in 2006.
