TaeguTec Ltd., formerly known as Korean Tungsten Co., is a multi-national industrial cutting tools manufacturer headquartered in Daegu, Republic of Korea. It is the largest industrial cutting tools manufacturer in the far-east, also Korea’s largest manufacturer of tungsten cutting tools and hard metal tools with the only integrated tungsten production from tungsten powder to cutting tool products plant in the world.

Founded as Sang Dong Mines in 1916, transformed into Korean Tungsten Corporation in 1952, to become South Korea’s primary exporter of tungsten and by the 1980s the biggest cutting tools provider supporting Korean industrial expansion. In 1998, KTC was acquired by International Metalworking Companies Group and rebranded as TaeguTec Ltd. Since then, TaeguTec has matured into a cutting tools multi-national corporation.

As a member of the IMC group, TaeguTec has experienced rapid growth from an exclusively domestic provider into a global cutting tools and industrial products provider allowing the TaeguTec corporate footprint to grow.
