Techniks Opens Ontario Warehouse
The new distribution center will offer the company’s full line of equipment.

The Basics of Magnetic Workholding
Magnetic workholding has at least two significant advantages: setups are fast and no intrusive clamps are needed. Watch this video to learn more.

Deburring Machine for Small Parts
The Spinner machine from Techniks batch deburrs ferrous and nonferrous parts produced on machining centers, Swiss-types and lathes.

ER Collet System Handles Multiple Applications
Techniks’ Flexible ER collet system is designed to handle a variety of machining tasks, including drilling, milling, coolant-through, tapping and high-speed applications, without requiring new toolholders.

Video Shows How to Check Toolholder Runout
Here’s a video that explains how to check the runout on a collet chuck toolholder.

Last Glance at IMTS 2010
It would be impossible to cover all of the key exhibitors at IMTS 2010—even if every booth got merely a quick glance. However, the editors of MMS did get glimpses of some interesting technologies exhibited at the show...

Small-Parts Deburring Machine For Nonferrous Metals
The sPINner machine from Earth-Chain uses magnetic pin action to deburr slots, blind holes and internal cavities that other media can’t reach. The machine is suited for small, precision parts made from nonferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, stainless steel and titanium.

Toolholder For Aggressive Cutting
Techniks’ DualDrive toolholders, which can be used with all spindles, eliminate the gap between the toolholder flange and the spindle face to provide increased rigidity and accuracy when cutting. The company recommends using these toolholders when high metal removal rates, high feed rates and/or machining at extended lengths is desired.

Micro-Deburring Machine
The Spinner machine batch deburrs ferrous and nonferrous parts produced on Swiss-type screw machines and lathes. According to the company, it quickly and effectively batch-deburrs most small, precision parts produced for the medical, electronics and aerospace industries.  The stainless steel pin media removes light burrs and micro-burrs without harming the part.
