Multi-Spindle Production Center
The eight-spindle Mori-Say TMZ 867 CNC multi-spindle multifunction production center can accommodate barstock as large as 72 mm in diameter and can operate as an open-front chucker. The multi-spindle offers high precision CNC production capability to a range of part sizes that, until now, required other types of machines, such as rotary transfer machines, the company says. Provided with a double Siemens 840 D CNC, the machine offers as many as 72 CNC axes and can perform almost any metalcutting operation on precision parts including drilling, tapping, milling and hobbing.
Versatile Multispindle CNC Production Center
With a double Siemens CNC and more than 70 CNC axes, standard features of the versatile TMZ multispindle CNC production centers include 6 independently driven CNC spindles, 6 independent compound slides (X and Z), 6 independent tool carriers with driven tools, 3 backworking tool carriers (2 driven), and standard presettable VDI tooling. Each of its six spindles is linked by a composite shaft to its own motor located away from the spindle drum, which employs a Hirth coupling. This makes it unnecessary to reverse-index the drum at the end of each 360° cycle, connect, and disconnect the motors to the spindles with each indexing, cool the drum to dissipate the heat generated by the spindles, or to supply power to the spindles thru rotating, slip-ring connectors. The mechanical stability of the machine is thus assured without the use of refrigerant or spindle compensation. The absolute independence of each spindle makes it possible to perform any type of machining, including machining operations requiring spindle stopping or C-axis spindle orienting, thus making of the TMZ a real and complete turning and milling center. The machine is provided with all options and includes capabilities that make it desirable on today?s precision machining floors: quick changeover; simple intuitive programming; single-point presettable driven tooling; complete serviceability over the internet; and teaching software.
