Ah, Chicago. The Windy City. Whether you’re looking for razzmatazz, all that jazz, a place to entertain important clients or just a place to unwind with a drink, make sure to take advantage of a night on the town while you’re here for IMTS.

Let’s talk beer. Chicago has a great craft beer scene and a couple of great breweries are within walking distance of McCormick Place. Motor Row (motorrowbrewing.com) is located in a historic multi-story building in an area that once housed automobile manufacturers and dealers—perfect for the IMTS crowd. Beers include their Reclamation Lager, Fleetwood Black schwarzbier and Dry Humor blonde Belgian honey wheat. Another nearby option is Vice District Taproom (vicedistrictbrewing.com). You’ll find great beers including rotating and seasonal selections, all in a friendly communal atmosphere with a wide selection of board games.

If you’re looking for high-end cocktails, you should try The Aviary (theaviary.com). It features creative cocktail creations and culinary works of art. It’s a popular spot, so you’ll want to book ahead for this one. Oh, and there’s a speakeasy called The Office located directly beneath featuring vintage spirits and classically inspired cocktails.

Other great nearby cocktail options include CHDistillery (chdistillery.com) for a touch of local authenticity and Henry’s Swing Club (henrys-chicago.com) for low-key fun.

Want to take in some music? Check out Tack Room (tackroomchicago.com), a cozy piano bar with a simple, curated cocktail menu. If you really want to party, head to part-bar, part-concert venue Howl at the Moon (howlatthemoon.com)—but you may want to pick a night when you don’t have any early meetings.

View more restaurants, hotels, attractions and tips on getting around on the IMTS.com/show/chicago webpage or on IMTSTV.
