Hwacheon’s C2 multi-process turning center with Y- and C-axis control is said to easily and efficiently produce parts with complicated shapes in a single chucking operation. Murata Machinery USA says its MW120II turning center is an improved version of the MW120, featuring Muratec’s latest and fastest automation. Armed with a high-speed, lightweight gantry loader, the MW120II offers rapid-traverse speeds in the X, Y and Z axes of as much as 1.5 times those of the traditional gantry loader. Read More.
Sandvik Coromant’s CB7125 and CB7135 grades are designed for medium to heavy interrupted cuts, removing the hardened layer at a maximum depth of 2 mm in case- and induction-hardened steel components typical for the automotive industry. According to the company, the grades provide longer, more consistent tool life as well as a quality surface finish and consistent dimensional tolerances. The grades are said to be well suited for transmission and other hard-turned components due to added speed and more secure edge line for lower cost per component. Read More.
Schwanog’s PWP and PWP-D insertable form drill system reduce setup times with an insert holder that stays in the machine during insert change-over. This design keeps the center height unchanged. The insertable carbide tool is ground individually per customer specifications, it can hold a minimum tolerance of ±0.02 mm and the repeatability is 0.02 mm. Read More.
Tsugami/Rem Sales offers the Tsugami M08J, an highly rigid two-axis turning center with a manual tailstock, programmable quill and A2-6 spindle nose. The lathe’s rigid construction uses box ways for the X axis and oversized linear guides for the Z axis for heavy-duty machining. Read More.
WFL Millturn Technology’s M120 MillTurn machining center accommodates machining lengths ranging from 78" to 315" and offers a swing ranging to 48". Along with as much as 168 hp and 8,680 foot-pounds of torque in the main spindle, high feed rates on all axes are said to enhance dynamics and productivity. Read More.
