Big Kaiser’s Dyna Contact is a precise gage used to check the geometric accuracy of a machine spindle taper by visually comparing the contact of the gage to the spindle. A layout dye is applied to the Dyna Contact before inserting into the machine spindle. Upon removal, an operator can check for taper contact and determine if the machine spindle will have proper contact with toolholders. The product is compatible with all steep taper specifications, including CAT, BT and DIN. Read more.

The L.S. Starrett Co. introduces its Digi-Check height masters with electronic digital readout. The Digi-Check No. 258 series combines the Starrett-Webber gage blocks with a micrometer head and digital readout display. The device provides a reference setting for checking bore gages, inside micrometers, end measuring rods and other gages and height measurement of parts. Read more.

Mahr Inc. has expanded its Optimar 100 solution for testing dial and digital indicators, test indicators and dial comparators with image processing to automate the testing of measuring equipment. An upgrade kit with a camera automatically records the values of the test indicators and forwards them to software for processing, increasing the system’s safety and speed. The automated procedure saves time and replaces operator readings, which are prone to errors. Read more.

Marposs expands its Mida VTS visual tool setter family with the addition of the VTS WF45 and WF85 wide field versions. These versions are for non-contact measuring and for verifying double-sided, larger-diameter tools. The wide field versions rely on LED technology to perform both profile and surface integrity inspection of the entire tool, identifying minor faults that could affect workpiece integrity. Read more.

The TurnCheck system from Quality Vision International (QVI) addresses sources of uncertainty in shaft measurement by focusing on advanced optics, thermal stability and ease of use. Its illumination system produces collimated light with a constant wavelength, eliminating the wrap-around effect on turned parts. The receiving optics are telecentric, with each element designed to eliminate distortion. The result is a uniformly magnified image with no edge effects or exclusion zones. Read more.
