This technology uses a carbide blade to remove burrs from the front and back of a drilled through-hole in a single pass, without stopping or reversing the spindle. The edge break is even and consistent across a wide spectrum of metals and alloys whether the surface is even, elliptical or sloped.</p>

<p>Automating the deburring processes for hard-to-reach cross-burrs&nbsp;shortens cycle times and improves efficiency. Carbide blades extend tool life and maintain edge sharpness, reducing downtime. COFA tooling is well-suited for both manual and CNC environments, as well as live-spindle lathes and robotic automation cells &mdash; operating reliably with or without cutting fluid. A variety of sizes from 2-30 mm (0.79-1.19&quot;) are available from stock. COFA tooling is designed for a wide range of applications in aerospace, automotive, energy, precision machining, heavy equipment and medical industries.</p>

<p>Controlled by a simple spring, the carbide cutting blade follows the contour of the hole&rsquo;s surface, removing all burrs while creating an even-tapered corner break. The blade does not cut as it passes through the bore and will not damage the hole&rsquo;s surface. The edge break begins only at the point where the blade contacts the material and then tapers the hole&rsquo;s edge. This enables faster feed rates since the tool slows itself down as it enters the through-hole. The COFA tool has no adjusting screws or presetting requirements and is available in common tool sizes and spring strengths for various materials and hole sizes.</p>

<p>A wide range of COFA tooling is available, including COFA C for threaded holes and COFA Cassette for deburring larger bores quickly and efficiently. Custom designs are available to match deburring geometries and process needs.</p>

A specialized five-axis milling head with 15-kW spindle is well-suited for machining contours and tight pockets in large molds.</p>

<p>The FZU22 provides a substantial working range, from 71-98&quot; in the X-axis, 118-138&quot; in the Y-axis and 49&quot; in the Z-axis. A feed rate of 2,756 ipm in the X- and Y-axes is standard while the acceleration on the machine is a maximum of 118-197&quot; per&nbsp;sec<sup>2</sup>.
