On June 21 at 2 p.m. EST, I’ll be co-presenting an hour-long webinar with Mark Brownhill, program manager—machine tool distribution and education for Fanuc FA America. As the company explains, when purchasing new equipment, it is easy to fall into the trap of focusing on the one-time acquisition cost while not fully appreciating all of the reoccurring costs to run and maintain it. In today’s just-in-time manufacturing environment, equipment availability, reliability and productivity are true cost factors as are the more traditional energy, operation and maintenance costs. The free webinar will discuss how CNC innovation can deliver the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for production equipment. A Q&A session will follow Mr. Brownhill’s presentation (we’ll get to as many of your questions as we can). Mr. Brownhill has more than 30 years of experience in the CNC and machine tool industry. He has held various positions in design engineering, production engineering, application engineering, sales and product management at end-users, machine tool builders and CNC suppliers. He is also experienced in continuous improvement and cost savings using Six Sigma and lean methodologies.
