In this story, I explain how minimizing machine downtime became all the more important to a shop that began targeting higher-production automotive work. To that end, the shop began implementing predictive spindle monitoring technology from GTI Spindle to head off problems that could take out key machines for extended periods of time.

Shops, especially those running high-volume jobs, are particularly interested in preventing machine downtime. In this video, GTI Spindle President Tom Hoenig explains some of the ways remote spindle analysis can identify specific machine problems such worn bearings, unbalanced tools and low drawbar force.
