Arch Global Precision Acquires Ultra-Dex, PTG

The company will expand its cutting tool business and add additional capacity with the acquisitions.

Arch Global Precision (Livonia, Mich.), parent company of KEO Cutters and Richards Micro-Tool, recently acquired Ultra-Dex Tooling Systems and Production Tool & Grinding (PTG), acquisitions that are expected to bolster its existing cutting tool business and provide additional capabilities for technologies such as laser marking and CNC grinding. Ultra-Dex (Flushing, Mich.) is a provider of Beamer laser marking systems as well as indexable boring, milling and drilling systems; toolholders; and custom tooling. Mark Birchmeier, former owner of Ultra-Dex, will continue to serve as president of the company for a transitional period.

PTG, located in Orange, Mass., is a manufacturer of custom solid carbide cutting tools for aerospace and CNC grinding technology. Its equipment and employees will be relocated to Arch’s KEO milling cutters facility located in the neighboring town of Athol, Mass. Its owners, Mike and Rolly Rochon, will stay on for a transitional period as well.
