Greenfield Industries Hosts Apprentice Appreciation Day
The event marked the first year of Greenfield’s partnership with Apprenticeship Carolina.
Greenfield Industries Inc. (Seneca, South Carolina) hosted Greenfield Apprentice Appreciation Day to celebrate the completion of its first year partnering with Apprenticeship Carolina, an organization that provides information and technical assistance to help South Carolina employers create demand-driven registered apprenticeship programs
The event included a tour of the facility during which apprentices shared their work processes with family, friends and guests. Parents and representatives from Fred P. Hamilton Career Center, Oconee County School System, Tri-County Technical College, Oconee Economic Alliance and Apprenticeship Carolina were invited to participate in the celebration.
Greenfield Industries says it believes in supporting and encouraging youth to look at manufacturing as a viable option for their present and future aspirations. The company employs nine apprentices: Three adult apprentices are enrolled at Tri-County Technical College, and six high school apprentices are enrolled at Fred P. Hamilton Career Center. The students are employees who earn while they learn, as the company puts it.
