Users group members can attend training opportunities, presentations, thought leader sessions and user listening sessions, as well as network with peers.

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (North Kingstown, Rhode Island) will host the second annual PC-DMIS users group meeting at HxGN Live 2018, June 12-15 at The Venetian in Las Vegas. The cross-industry technology conference will bring together measurement software users worldwide for continuing education and face time with PC-DMIS development and application specialists. Users group members can attend training opportunities, presentations, thought leader sessions and user listening sessions, and network with peers. Participants will also have access to the entire HxGN Live conference with keynote sessions and the Zone technology expo featuring more than 120,000 square feet of the company’s technologies and more than 60 exhibiting sponsors.

The users group meeting is designed to help users and managers master new software features, apply best practices, and improve workflows and inspection planning. Tuesday, June 12, will be entirely devoted to training on advanced topics including automated metrology systems, digital data management, embedded geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and new programming workflows. Each two-hour training session will have question-and-answer time to address involved metrology questions.

The agenda for the following two days includes sessions from PC-DMIS executives and product specialists. The company recently launched PC-DMIS 2018 R1, the first of two major releases scheduled this year, which incorporated enhancements requested by the software community. The product line manager for metrology software, Ken Woodbine, will discuss the evolution of PC-DMIS measurement workflows, demonstrate new features of PC-DMIS 2018 R2 and offer sneak peaks of current developments. He will also cover the recent implementation of the HexagonMI Idea Center and its impact on software development moving forward.

Another presentation will look at the latest revisions to ASME and ISO GD&T standards, and deliberate their impact on the industry. The session will be led by Rob Jensen, who is the chair of the ASME Y14.5.1 Math Committee, a member of Y14.5, the US TAG to ISO, and the product owner for GD&T in the metrology software product line.

Other highlights include a workflow optimization workshop for shopfloor metrology users, and track sessions covering point cloud inspection, metrology data management and applied statistical process control (SPC), and how to solve high-accuracy and freeform metrology workflows. The program also includes an opportunity for users to share their ideas for PC-DMIS development in a live ideas session, as well as an introduction to HxGN Smart Quality, the company's online quality data and measurement resource management platform
