Kyocera Corp. (Tokyo, Japan) consolidated its North American cutting tool business units into a wholly-owned subsidiary, Kyocera Precision Tools Inc. (KPTI) as of April 1, 2014. Headquartered in Hendersonville, North Carolina, the new company is now responsible for manufacturing and marketing Kyocera's products in North America under the leadership of President Koichi Nosaka and Vice President Jim Good. Mr. Nosaka previously served as general manager of cutting tools at the former Kyocera Industrial Ceramics Corp. (KICC), while Mr. Good was previously the president of the former Kyocera Tycom Corp. (KTC). Both companies are now part of KPTI.

The company says its combined enterprise will strengthen its service throughout North America, providing unified cutting tool resources, sales and support for the automotive, aerospace, general machining, medical, power generation, printed circuit board and steel industries. Anticipating a smooth transition, the company has hosted nine regional training seminars since its April inception to educate customers about its operations and expanded product line. All existing North American sales and production facilities are planned to remain operational, according to the company.
