Methods Machine Tools to Host MetalStorm 2017

The large open house event in Massachusetts will feature more than 50 machines under power in addition to automated cells.

Methods Machine Tools Inc. will host MetalStorm 2017 October 4-5 at its corporate showroom and technical center in Sudbury, Massachusetts. The open house event will showcase manufacturing products designed to enhance productivity and overcome specific manufacturing challenges.

The event will feature more than 50 machines under power. Live demonstrations will be presented on Yasda, Nakamura-Tome, Kiwa, FANUC, Feeler, and Exeron CNC die sinkers and high-speed milling machines. In addition, the event will display automation solutions including robotic cells and pallet systems. Methods automation specialists will demonstrate postprocessing applications, including 3D vision for bin picking, and a full deburring cell using FANUC robots to deburr and wash parts. Methods will also demonstrate an unattended laser marker that uses a FANUC robot to position and mark parts.

Attendees will be able to participate in technical seminars conducted throughout the two-day event covering topics in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), EDM, CAMplete, turn-mill technology, automation, five-axis inspection, turnkey engineering solutions, design for manufacturability and assembly, and more. The seminars are said to be relevant to the automotive, aerospace, medical and defense industries, among others.
