Omax Hires Sales Manager, Asia

William Wei will support customers in Asia, bringing long trans-Pacific sales experience.

Waterjet machine manufacturer Omax Corp. has named William Wei as its sales manager for Asia. He will support the company’s distribution partners and customers in China and Taiwan.

Steve Ulmer, vice president of international sales, says that “Asia is such an important market for abrasive waterjet. We have seen a tremendous increase in demand for our precision-engineered systems throughout the area, and his extensive experience will help us meet the growing needs of our global customers in a variety of industries.”

Mr. Wei brings more than 20 years of experience in international sales and marketing as well as product marketing and business development for the electronic manufacturing and plumbing hardware industries. Most recently, he worked as a sales and marketing director covering China. His extensive experience working with manufacturers in the U.S. and Asia gives him the wherewithal to understand the unique regulations and requirements of these different markets.

While Mr. Wei earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Northern Jiaotong University, and his master’s degree in business administration from Illinois State University.
