At the Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference in July, Verisurf Software announced a cooperative research and development agreement with the U.S. Navy Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) to develop technologies and processes that will increase the maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) efficiency of fleet aviation assets. Under the agreement, Verisurf will support in the transfer of developed technology back to the commercial sector.

“This collaboration will help us reduce the turnaround time and costs to keep Navy aircraft operational while helping Verisurf develop coordinate metrology technology for the MRO market,” said Christopher Root, ITP lead of Advanced Aircraft Technologies. Verisurf will develop new software and hardware for implementation in the aircraft MRO sector while simultaneously gaining knowledge of Navy MRO capabilities. Verisurf plans to facilitate the transition of results for similar structures used in DOD and commercial settings.
