FlexCNC, an offshoot of FlexArm, introduces the G series of vertical machining centers for face milling, helical milling, rough milling and drilling large and long parts in a single setup.  The 20-06 SE model provides a 20 × 6-ft. bed capable of handling parts up to 20 ft. in length.  The long open bed, coupled with the movable safety light curtain, enables multiple setups, such that while the 20-06 SE is machining one part, another can be loaded (or offloaded).  The open design provides unrestricted access, which is said to make loading and unloading both easier and faster.

The 20-06 SE features a monoblock-welded steel frame with high rigidity and a T-slot machine bed. The CT 40, 6,000-rpm spindle offers a maximum torque of 74 foot-pounds (with an 18-hp upgrade available). The machine offers maximum travel rates of 1,200 ipm along the X axis, 1,000 ipm along the Y axis and 165 ipm along the Z axis. Z-Axis travel measures 19.5", with spindle nose-to-table distance ranging from 5.5" to 25.0".

The standard unit runs on 480 V and includes mobile light-curtain safety barriers, a frame with chip conveyor and T-slotted table, flood coolant pump and tank, and automatic tool calibrator.  The 12" color touchscreen is water-resistant. Oversized, double-hung linear guideways promote smooth and precise movement on all axes. All moving parts are self-lubricating on all axes. A programmable servomotor drives the spindle. The machine also includes a 10-compartment automatic toolchanger.

The CNC offers conversational and ISO G- and M-code programming for versatile three-axis machining along with an optional fourth axis. The system is equipped with 40 GB of program storage and 50 programmable zero points. Programs can be loaded through USB or Ethernet connection. Extensive training is provided by the company both in-plant and on-site.
