Lucifer Furnaces is offering its Model 3027-K12 high-temperature box furnace, capable of heating at 2,500°F using silicon carbide rod-type heating elements mounted above and below the hearth for uniform heat in the work chamber. The 12" × 12" × 12" chamber is lined with 5" of insulating brick and 2" of mineral wool block, resulting in 7" total of dry-fit insulation. The double-pivot horizontal swing door with insulating plug meets flush with the throat section at the front of the furnace chamber, minimizing heat loss. Controls are mounted in the furnace base cabinet and include a voltage-regulating power transformer with selector switches. A type-R platinum thermocouple mounted through the roof provides fast, accurate response and extends lifespan at elevated temperatures.

For unattended operation, the furnace can be equipped with a Honeywell UDC 3500 temperature controller add-on with improved set point programming, fast scanning and onboard diagnostics. An over-temperature safety system is also available, for automatic furnace shutdown in the event of a high temperature excursion.
