Supermill offers its XPV and XPVS series of carbide end mills for roughing or finishing difficult materials, featuring a four-flute, variable-pitch and helix design. The end mills include progressive rake angles, full eccentric relief, sharp or radius corners, and aluminum-chromium-nitride coating. The XPV series is intended for roughing and finishing of titanium, while the XPVS series is designed for milling steel and stainless alloys. Standard cutting diameters range from 1/8" to 1".
Both series of carbide end mills are said to produce quieter and smoother cuts at increased speeds and feeds, resulting in higher production rates. According to the company, the tools enable taking heavier cuts for fewer passes, shorter cycle times and greater tool life.
