Dragonskin coating technology from Ceratizit USA Inc. combines high-performance substrates and coating structures to achieve a hard and durable satin finish. The company says the coating is designed to maximize tool life, cutting speeds and process reliability.

The cutting tool coating has a TiAIN nanolayer with a 0.35 coefficient of friction. This allows for maximum application temperatures of 1,832ºF, provide what the company says is an impenetrable layer of protection.
