DP Technology’s Esprit Cloud-enabled CAM software enables programmers to quickly select tools based on part features through the Esprit Machining Cloud Connection. Users now have access to complete, up-to-date tooling product data through this system, eliminating the need for manual tool creation, the company says. The cloud-enabled software also offers recommended cutting tools based on machining features and machining sequences, and simulates accurate 3D models of tool components and assemblies.

The latest version of the Esprit software also includes a range of updates related to tooling, automation, simulation and shopfloor collaboration. Improvements have been made to features for editing and numbering tools, simplifying tool management. Updated automation capabilities eliminate repetitive and time-consuming tasks for increased programming efficiency. Simulations enhancements including collision-detection tools protect machines, and new collaborative tools streamline teamwork on the shop floor. According to the company, the CAM system is suitable for programming two- to five-axis milling, two- to 22-axis turning, two- to five-axis wire EDM, multitasking mill-turn machining and B-axis machine tools, and high-speed three- and five-axis machining.
