Coolant-Through Thread Mills Maintain Tool Hardness
Scientific Cutting Tool’s coolant-through thread mills are designed to promote the retention of tool hardness for extended tool life.
Scientific Cutting Tool’s coolant-through thread mills are designed to promote the retention of tool hardness for extended tool life. When cutting and drilling, the cutting tool material interface can reach temperatures in excess of 2,000°F, causing chips to stick to it and damage the cutting edge unless they are cleared away quickly. Unlike some coolant-through tools, which have one hole down the center and flutes to the side, Rego-Fix’s coolant-through thread mills have holes down the shank to each flute, causing coolant to reach the cutting zone efficiently without weakening the integrity of the tool. These tools can be used for both blind and through holes.
