The UniWest US-525M single- or multi-channel eddy current inspection instrument detects surface defects in metals. With an improved signal-to-noise ratio, the instrument can detect smaller flaws that other instruments may miss, the company says. It is designed for quality assurance in the automotive, aerospace and metal production industries and is well-suited for bar, tube, wire and specialty component testing.
The rack-mounted instrument can be integrated into a semi- or fully automatic inspection system for non-destructive testing in an inline production environment. It offers as many as eight channels with frequencies ranging from 20 Hz to 10 Mz, three discrete alarm gates with independent outputs per channel, a 12" diagonal color LCD flat-panel screen, 32-GB data storage and input/output (I/O) capability. The instrument is equipped with an integral digital strip chart, as well as USB and Ethernet control and data transfer.
