Manufacturer Big Kaiser says its Sphinx high-precision, high speed steel and micro drills deliver the exacting tolerances and accuracies required for medical applications. Standard drills are available in 3×D and 5×D with or without coolant-through capability. The solid carbide drills are suitable for various materials, including steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and more.
The Sphinx Phoenix solid carbide drill is designed to cut extra-hard materials such as steel and cast iron. Special flute and tip geometry enables increased feeds and speeds while ensuring low cutting forces and optimum chip break, the company says.
Also designed to cut steel and cast iron, the Sphinx Quadro 15 Plus has a point geometry that allows high feeds and speeds, the company says. In addition, the drill’s geometry and Balzers coating are said to ensure long-term performance and precision.
