Dual Finishing Line Applies Two Metal Finishes Simultaneously

The Dual Process line from Birchwood Technologies enables metal finishers to apply its Tru Temp low-temperature black oxide finish and its Microlok MZN zinc phosphate finish using the same processing system. Both processes use common tanks and consume minimal rinse water. Using ten 100-gallon tanks, the line incorporates the company’s Near-Zero water recycler and an ion exchange water purifier. The line is particularly well-suited for use in the oil and gas drilling industry for down-hole drilling components requiring both black oxide and zinc phosphate finishes.

The line offers the flexibility to operate either process by itself, or both simultaneously as needed. One user can handle all operations, including loading and unloading the system’s racks/baskets, processing the loads through the line, performing general daily maintenance on the line, and producing 3 to 4 loads of finished parts per hour. The line can be operated on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on workflow patterns and part demand.
