EZMaintain's Maintenance Software Communicates with Sensors
EZMaintain’s cloud-based CMMS is designed to help manage assets, schedule breakdown and preventive maintenance, and track work orders from a single dashboard.
EZMaintain’s cloud-based Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) is designed to help manage assets, schedule breakdown and preventive maintenance, and track work orders from a single dashboard. The system can be integrated with wireless sensors measuring pressure, temperature, vibration and other metrics. The system communicates with the sensor using JSON, a lightweight format for data exchange.
By adding asset or machine sensor data to the CMMS software, EZmaintain is said to enable maintenance teams to monitor sensor data from the dashboard, while users can set alarm triggers and get notified before a critical failure happens or convert alert into work order ticket.
Introduced at IMTS 2008, this communications protocol for CNC machines and other manufacturing equipment is already helping shops and plants implement effective machine monitoring systems. Although these "early adopters" are motivated by the long-term promise of enterprise-wide efficiency gains, their experience with pilot projects shows that benefits derived in the short term are substantial and worthwhile.
CNC machine tools that operate like self-contained, automated smart factories can be an introduction or an addition to digital manufacturing workflows.
This shop’s successful entry into machine monitoring reveals important points about what to do and what to expect.
