Indexable-Insert-Style Broaching Tool For Lathes

Share

This indexable-insert-style broaching tool is designed for use in a CNC lathe with a locking spindle. The system is said to provide an efficient, cost-effective way to broach keyways ranging from 1/8" to 1/2 ". According to the company, the tool uses a TiN-coated micro-grain carbide insert that lasts as much as four times longer than a comparable brazed carbide insert. The tool design allows the insert to be removed and rotated or replaced while the tool remains locked in the turret, thus avoiding lost setup time for re-zeroing the machine. The heat-treated O-1 tool steel body and the proprietary design of the insert and insert pocket provide stability during the cut, thereby reducing chatter, the company says.
