Indexing System Offers Integration, Automation

This automated indexing system consists of a robot, multi-station workholding, indexer and gage with process control. The system includes a Fanuc LR Mate 200iC six-axis robot integrated with the hydraulic tower, which is mounted to a Haas HRT310 fourth-axis indexer and a Kurt gage. The modified tower is plumbed for double-acting hydraulics that sense positive movement when the workholding closes and opens on a part to be machined. The gage measures and records machined-part attributes automatically. Data for process control, product traceability and process capability studies are captured, stored and displayed in real time.
