TDM Systems says its tool data management software, TDM, is a complete system for efficient management and organization of production resources, including tools, jigs, fixtures, measuring and inspection equipment.

The software is designed to optimize and standardize tool preparation as well as production planning processes. Existing inventory in the tool crib is transparent and accessible at any time, and tools can be ordered as needed.

With TDMstoreasy, users can manage both manual and automatic storage systems (spiral cabinets, lift systems, cabinets with drawers and others) to reduce time-consuming data collection. A special import assistant is also available. Master data and graphics can be imported automatically through Excel, reducing the expense of data entry, the company says. With a few clicks to 2D and 3D graphics, the tool establishes interfaces to such CAD/CAM systems as Catia V5, NX Siemens, Pro Engineer, Tebis, TopSolidCAM, Esprit, MasterCAM, EdgeCAM and SolidCAM. It also ensures that the NC programming works with uniform tool data.

Also available is the TDM Data and Graphic Generator, which is designed for creating master data quickly. This is essential for a realistic collision analysis, the company says. Users can create a complete tool data record with true-to-scale and ready-to-simulate 2D and 3D graphics. The generator contains detailed information about turning, drilling and milling products for more than 45,000 tools.
