NSK’s iSpeed3 spindles feature sensorless motors, a compact footprint and diameters ranging from 19.05 to 25 mm (0.75" to 0.98"). Spindle speeds range from 1,000 to 80,000 rpm. Depending on the work envelope requirement, the spindles can be equipped with either right-angle wiring or wiring that exits directly out of the back of the unit.
Designed to accommodate collets ranging to 4 mm (1/8"), the air-cooled motor is said to meet a variety of machining requirements. It can be supplied in more than 15 different configurations, including self-contained flange mounts.
The spindle is said to be well-suited for high-precision, Swiss-type machining. It features increased reliability and durability in various machining environments, including medical and aerospace applications.
