Keller USA's AmbiTower Ambient Filtration Unit Protects Against Viruses
Keller USA offers its AmbiTower filtration system for shops trying to ensure workplace safety during the coronavirus pandemic. This collector features high-performance filter elements and a secondary filter stage. It is available for ambient air/room filtration within a sized square footage range. It supports the layered air principle, wherein dust-laden air is extracted from the overhead air space of the plant and returned as purified air at worker level.
Process-generated air pollutants such as coolant/oil mist, fumes and dust particles are traditionally the primary focus for manufacturing plants. Keller’s AmbiTower is an ambient plant filtration system meant to provide air filtration for shops that only use filtration systems that capture air from enclosed machines or workstations. Because COVID-19 is believed to be transmitted through airborne droplets and aerosols, dust collectors, combined with a secondary filter level of H13/H14 quality (HEPA) can reliably filter viruses from the air within the capturing point range, according to Keller USA.
An add-on system for minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) combines an external pump with repeatable control over nozzle position.
This micro-volume coolant delivery system uses ethanol as the cooling medium for non-ferrous workpieces. The ethanol evaporates after it cools the cutting tool, so no residue is left behind on machined workpieces.
This shop provides a case in point of the substantial savings that can be realized with the proper coolant formulation. Rustlick Ultracut Pro, available from ITW Rocol North America, lasted twice as long in the sump than the shop’s previous coolant, leading to significant operating and maintenance cost savings.
