Bunting’s workholding and maintenance tools are designed to increase productivity and safety for those working with ferrous materials. These magnetic chucks, vices, blocks and clamps hold workpieces for machining, welding and assembly operations; while the company’s magnetic press feeders, sheet metal handles and a range of pick-up tools are said to provide quick scrap cleanup.

Also available are rectangular chucks for holding a variety of ferrous workpieces for machining. The company’s magnetic chucks grip workpieces for turning on lathes or for grinding on internal, cylindrical or rotary grinding machines. The chucks operate by a removable handle and can be partially energized for part positioning. Magnetic clamps, including models such as mitre, variable and adjustable clamps, provide support for various welding and assembly applications. They are made to hold ferrous plates, parts, sheets and tubing securely in position, within a range of angles.

Additionally, the company’s grounding clamps are said to provide ample grounding for many steel welding applications. Magnetic vices; vee-blocks; bases for holding dial-gauge indicators; hand tools for lifting and positioning oily sheets on the production line; and various tools for picking up parts and metal scraps.

  • Holding Small Parts for Effective Machining on a CNC Router

A non-woven porous material with a special coating enables vacuum chucks and tables to hold sheets of metal and other materials more effectively on CNC routing machines. The material, called Vilmill, is used as a substrate between the sheet or plate material to be machined and a suitable vacuum table or vacuum chuck where it is held securely in place by the vacuum.

  • Rethinking Indexers And Rotary Tables

Affordable indexers and fourth-axis rotary tables greatly enhance the capability of vertical machining centers. It’s almost as good as having a horizontal machining center.

  • When To Use A Collet Chuck

Don't assume the standard chuck is the right workholding for every lathe application.
