Modular Chip-Processing Systems Enable Customization

PRAB offers modular chip-processing systems designed to optimize scrap metal processing while promoting efficiency and reducing costs. The systems include all the equipment needed to process scrap and require minimal floor space, the company says. They typically consist of material-handling conveyors, pre-processing crushers or shredders, and a wringer or centrifuge. Briquetting, fluid recycling and filtration equipment can also be incorporated.

Originally designed for large automotive manufacturers, the modular concept is said to favor smaller, regional collection and processing points rather than central processing systems. The systems offer maneuverability and easy installation, and other modules can be added to expand chip handling capacity. According to the company, modular systems can be a means of eliminating labor-intensive and potentially hazardous processes.
