Modular Fixturing Products Reduce Setup for Machining Centers
IMTS 2018: Bluco will display a variety of modular fixturing products for vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Bluco will display a variety of modular fixturing products for vertical and horizontal machining centers. The company’s system of modular fixturing for machining is said to reduce the time it takes a machinist to set up a fixture in a CNC mill. With more than 250 standard modular pieces to choose from, custom fixtures can be built for any size or shape part (castings, forgings, weldments, plates) in a matter of minutes. The reusable tooling can be disassembled when a job is finished and then used to build new fixtures over and over again.
Baseplates with precision-bushed and threaded holes are custom-designed to fit any vertical machining center bed or pallet. Loaner plates are available from stock during customization. Custom-sized modular tombstones, tee brackets and grid plates are available for fixture bases for horizontal machining applications.
The company offers free fixturing design to help customers choose the right package of modular fixturing for their vertical or horizontal CNC’s.
Affordable indexers and fourth-axis rotary tables greatly enhance the capability of vertical machining centers. It’s almost as good as having a horizontal machining center.
As demonstrated at this Cincinnati-area shop, machines that both mill and turn shine brightest when workpieces are massive.
Don't assume the standard chuck is the right workholding for every lathe application.
