Multi-Material 3D Printers Feature Triple-Jetting Technology

Stratasys offers six multi-material 3D printers with compact and mid-size build envelopes that all feature the company’s PolyJet triple-jetting technology. Both the compact Objet260 and the mid-size Objet350 are available in Connex1, Connex2 and Connex3 versions. Larger Objet500 printers also are available in the three versions.

PolyJet technology allows users to build products with as many as three base materials in a single run, forming new digital materials such as Digital ABS or producing parts in multiple colors. Parts are printed in a single, automated build, allowing for as many as 80 material properties per part that range from rigid to rubber-like in a variety of colors and Shore A values. The technology can be used to create smooth, detailed and accurate molds, and the digital ABS material is said to be strong enough to hold up to short injection molding runs of about 10 to 100 parts.

Suitable for an office setting, the compact Objet260 can build models as large as 255 × 252 × 200 mm (10.0" × 9.9" × 7.9"), while the mid-size Objet350 offers a build size ranging to 342 × 342 × 200 mm (13.4" × 13.4" × 7.9"). The larger Objet500 can build models as large as 490 × 390 × 200 mm (19.3" × 15.4" × 7.9"). Connex2 systems offer all the benefits of Connex1 as well as two-component digital material options, and Connex3 adds three-component material options.
