Multitasking Five-Axis Machining Center for Large Gears
Mazak's Integrex e-1550V/10 multitasking five-axis machining center suits the production of large gears.
Mazak's Integrex e-1550V/10 multitasking five-axis machining center suits the production of large gears. In addition to milling, turning, boring, drilling and tapping, the machine's tilting spindle and turning table enable contouring operations and machining at any angle or cross-cutting position. The company says that no special tools are necessary for machining ring and pinion gears. The Mazatrol Matrix 2 CNC provides fast, small-increment processing for accurate five-axis, simultaneous machining and quality surface finishes.
The machining center provides the power and torque needed to machine gear sets, including a 10,000-rpm, 50-hp spindle with a B-axis travel of -30 to +120 degrees. The 300-rpm, 50-hp turning spindle rotates 360 degrees in the C-axis in 0.0001-degree minimum increments. The machining center offers rapid traverse rates of 1,653 ipm in the X, Y and Z axes, and is equipped with a 40-tool magazine to support continuous machine operations. Round pallets with four jaws and 55.1"-diameter face plates support maximum loads of 11,000 lbs and accommodate workpieces measuring 78.7" in diameter and 52.9" high.
