Nordfab Ducting has introduced new sealing gasket as part of its QFS sealed duct system for oil mists, cutting fluids, vapors, and other wet contaminants collection. The new QFS Gasket wraps around the Quick-Fit rolled edge of Nordfab’s clamp-together ducting for a secure fit that does not require adhesives. The gasket is non-directional, allowing quick assembly of components.
Nordfab is also now using a marine-grade caulk for QFS duct components that the company says is highly resistant to UV.
Nordfab’s Quick-Fit Ducting clamps together, which the company says cuts down the installation time required for many other types of ducting, and eliminates welding and flange assembly. Quick-Fit is also re-useable and can be disassembled, reconfigured and reinstalled when machines are moved or added.
The ability to create custom add-ins using the Esprit CAM system’s API and Microsoft’s Visual Basic has significantly reduced thread programming times at this manufacturer of oil and gas industry components.
Repairing damaged or worn threads on a workpiece is a common chore for toolroom lathes, especially in the oilfield industry. Haas Automation has a new feature for its conversational control units that simplifies and automates this process.
CAMCO, a Schlumberger Company (Houston, Texas), is a manufacturer of oil field components consisting of packers and safety valves. Due to the size of the parts, the company recently replaced many of its manual lathes with Weiler manual/CNC flat bed lathes.
