OSG USA Inc. has expanded a number of its end mill product lineups, including the ExoCarb WXL-CR-EDS, A Brand AE-HFE-H, A Brand AE-N and Phoenix series.
The ExoCarb WXL-CR-EDS is a series of high-performance carbide end mills for pre-hardened and hardened steels. The ExoCarb WXL-CR-EDS end mill series now includes inch size offerings.
According to OSG, the ExoCarb WXL-CR-EDS end mill features:
- An ultra-fine micro-grain carbide designed to maximize wear resistance.
- High-accuracy, high-precision geometry to eliminate the need for benching and rework for mold makers.
- A rigid, high-strength core diameter.
- +1100-degree Celsius oxidation temperature, +3100 Hv in hardness. The WXL coating provides higher coating oxidation temperature hardness to improve wear resistance.
The company has also released its A Brand AE-HFE-H end mill series, which is designed to provide advanced performance for high-hardness steels. The A Brand AE-HFE-H end mill series features a composite radius shape optimized for flat surface machining; double-stage gash design to balance cutting-edge strength and chip evacuation; and a variable index to suppress chatter.
Additionally, OSG’s A Brand AE-TS-N is a series of diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated end mills for non-ferrous materials. The A Brand AE-TS-N features center cutting that is well suited for plunging; a large core and new flute form that enhances rigidity and chip evacuation; a specialized cutting edge that achieves high durability and good surface finish; and a DLC coating to provide optimal surface accuracy.
OSG has also expanded its Phoenix indexable end mill lineup with the addition of the Phoenix PXAL DLC-coated, exchangeable-head end mills designed for non-ferrous materials.
The Phoenix PXM PXAL features a flat cutting edge to boost precision surface quality; a center cutting edge that allows this tool to be used for plunging; XP4625 grade that allows for welding resistance and long tool life in non-ferrous materials; DLC-IGUSS coating to improve durability and effectiveness for on-ferrous materials; and an extensive lineup including square type, radius type and reduced-shank type to accommodate a wide range of applications.
