Rotary Indexing Machines Produce in a Single Clamping

The Mikron Multistar CX-24 rotary indexing machines are designed to produce simple and complex turned and milled parts in a single clamping. As many as 44 machining operations can run simultaneously on 24 stations, according to the company. The 24 parts clamped on the rotating table are processed from above, below and laterally. Depending on the machining, the parts can be clamped in fixed or rotating collets. A measurement of the parts during production shortens the cycle time. Also, machining operations that determine cycle times can be divided between several stations.

These machines are designed with hydraulic units, chip conveyors and integrated oil mist separators. Therefore, depending on the configuration, the machine requires as much as 25 percent less installation space. For demanding operations, the company recommends a hybrid version with as many as 20 CNC axes.
