TM Robotics now offers SCARA robots with extended arm length in its THL series. The THL800, THL900 and THL1000 offer arms measuring 800, 900 and 1,000 mm in length, respectively, and are capable of moving payloads ranging to 10 kg over long distances. They are said to be well-suited for medical device assembly, semiconductor and electronics applications.
The robots feature lightweight, die cast aluminum arms, four-axis working envelopes and 360-degree Z-axis rotation. According to the company, the less complex gearboxes and motors are easy to maintain, while high-rpm motors provide faster speeds than similar robots. The robots are equipped a Toshiba Machine TSL3000 controller with storage capacity of 6,400 points + 12,800 steps. The controller uses the SCOL programming language, is USB-compatible and can be equipped with fieldbus as an option.
