CogniTens, a division of Hexagon Metrology, introduces the Optigo product line of versatile optical 3D measurement systems based on white-light stereo vision technology. The system is a manually operated device that provides high accessibility to measured objects such as dies, large sheet metal parts, assemblies and car bodies. Designed to withstand the harsh conditions of manufacturing environments, the system offers low sensitivity to structural vibrations, changing lighting conditions and more. It does not require any surface pre-treatment of measured objects in most applications.

The system provides a full, flexible field of view allowing full or partial inspection of small to very large objects. The system offers full metrology feedback on the whole surface, as well as on common features, various edge types and other dimensions of interest.

  • Surface Texture From Ra to Rz

The irregularity of a machined surface is the result of the machining process, including the choice of tool; feed and speed of the tool; machine geometry; and environmental conditions. This irregularity consists of high and low spots machined into a surface by the tool bit or a grinding wheel.

  • Raising the Bar with Ballbar Testing

Few manufacturing companies rely on ballbar testing to maintain machine tool accuracy as thoroughly as Silfex. Now, advanced training and a move to a Renishaw QC20-W wireless system have enabled the company to take the benefits of ballbar testing to a higher level.

  • DFGT - Double Flank Gear Testing

Functional gear testing, also known as total radial composite deviation, is a method of looking at the total effect of gear errors. This test method simulates the conditions under which a set of gears is likely to operate as a result of the gears meshing together.
