The inch version of the Dormer Pramet Helical AD for roughing applications is now available. Offering a cut as deep as 3.15", the cutters are especially useful for use with the company’s range of ADMX 16 inserts and support medium machining of materials including cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum alloys and super alloys.

According to the company, the large clearance between the cutting teeth, combined with internal coolant delivery, promotes efficient chip evacuation. The axial clamping of inserts on the end teeth is said to increase milling stability. The company says this design minimizes noise and vibration. The surface treatment of the body is nickel plated for resistance to corrosion and lower abrasion.
