Distributed by Indexing Technologies, the CTNE 50 shuttle toolchanger system from Colombo Filippetti Torino uses no hydraulic devices, resulting in decreased noise and improved cleanliness and reliability, the company says. The system features an exchanging unit assembled on a servo motor-driven shuttle that slides through rollers on a hardened, prismatic guide. The cycle exchange (180-degree rotation) is completed by using a precision reduction gear with a servo motor while the cone extraction stroke is operated by an oleo-pneumatic cylinder.

Tools can be changed with the spindle in both vertical and horizontal positions. It is pivoted in a fulcrum and can turn 90 degrees using an oleo-pneumatic cylinder. The gripper arm has a mechanical control with shutters inserted when the tool is drawn from the spindle.

Other toolchanger features include a variety of ring and annular magazines with a range of 20 to 80 tools.
