ICAM's CAM-Post Foundation is an entry-level two- or three-axis NC postprocessor development software that can be upgraded to more advanced products supporting multi-axis machining applications and technologies such as turn-mill machines, waterjets and wire EDMs. Available under a monthly lease, the software enables users to create unlimited two-axis lathe and three-axis mill postprocessors behind CAD/CAM systems. According to ICAM, postprocessors can be created, modified and managed without relying on third-party products and services.

The CAM-Post Foundation software includes 50 metric and 50 imperial controller-based postprocessors that are ready to execute within Catia, Mastercam or NX. All of the postprocessors can be edited to add specific machine tool functions such as spindle speed, block numbering, coolant start and program header preferences, and can also be used as templates to create completely new controller-based postprocessors.

A point-and-click wizard enables novice users to generate advanced postprocessors quickly and effectively, according to the company. The wizard guides users through the steps involved with illustrated instructions, providing an intuitive graphical interface for defining machine kinematics, axis sign conventions, travel limitations and rotary pivot distance offsets.
