Seco Tools’ Feedmax SD230A solid carbide, 30×D drill is designed for applications in the automotive, oil and gas, mold and die, medical and general engineering industries. The deep-hole drill offers increased hole quality, productivity and tool life compared to HSS or ordinary solid carbide drills, the company says.

Standard drill diameters range from 4 to 10 mm, with 3-mm diameters available as semi-standard. A four-facet-point geometry provides centering capability with primary and secondary relief angles and a point angle of 136 degrees. The tool also features a low-friction, TiAlN + TiN coating for increased, predictable tool life. Four land margins provide stability and maximize hole quality.

For the best setup stabilization, the drills should be used in conjunction with hydraulic chucks or shrink-fit toolholders, the company says. The drill is designed to complement its existing range of 16×D drills. Additional ranges, such as 20 and 25×D, are available as custom designs.
