The titanium-aluminum-nitride coating is said to promote good machining characteristics and extends tool life for a variety of applications including turning, threading and milling. The coating’s toughness qualifies it for roughing applications involving steel and hardened alloys including castings. The super-nitride coating also provides high oxidation resistance.
